My dad is 53 years old and he was diagnosed a few days ago with advanced prostate cancer.. I don't know a lot of details.. just that his cancer extended a little on the tissues that are near the prostate.. He is taking hormonal medicine and an injection every 2 weeks.. I think the cancer is inoperable.. So, what can I except?

What are typical treatments for an enlarged prostate in dogs?

Posted by Yuri Urkel on June 30th, 2009 and filed under prostate | 3 Comments »

Our dog has been to the vet, and his prostate was a little larger than normal. We're still waiting on results from his urine test, but he has all the sypmtoms of BPH (blood/pus leaking from penis, strained urination and defecation). What are some typical treatments used to shrink the prostate? He's already on Baytril for any infections he might have. He is an 8 year old, neutered male cocker spaniel.

Holistic vet practitioners are seeing more enlarged prostates in dogs and cats. Also a lot more cancer in cats and dogs. There are homeopathic remedies you can give you dog to reduce his prostate and reduce the likelihood of cancer. The article below has more information on the prostate problem in dogs as well as how to treat it naturally at home. Hope it helps, Best, Kate

My older brother was diagnosed last week with prostate cancer. He has it on both sides. The doctors told him on a scale from 0 to 10 he is a 7. I have been worried ever since he was told. I have heard that its not that deadly compared to other forms of cancer. I hope not anyway. Thanks for any and all help on this.

Can a colonoscopy help detect prostate cancer?

Posted by Yuri Urkel on June 27th, 2009 and filed under prostate | 1 Comment »

My father recently had a colonoscopy. After the colonoscopy, the doctor told him that the prostate was very firm and in good shape. How could he detect this?

The doctor sticks their finger inside the rectum when they lubricate the anus prior to the insertion of the colonoscope. At this time the doctor's finger can and should feel the prostate which is just inside the anus. At this time the doctor can determine the size and firmness of the prostate.

Explain this to your dad for father's day. He'll be impressed.

Besides Cancer, What Are The Causes of an Enlarged Prostate?

Posted by Yuri Urkel on June 24th, 2009 and filed under what is prostate cancer | 8 Comments »

Hello Everyone,

If your doctor has determined that you do NOT have prostate cancer, but have a large prostate, what causes this to happen in the first place? I am aware that frequent urination is a main sign of an enlarged prostate, but what causes the prostate to grow in the first place?

Why is there so much fundraising for Breast Cancer ? But not for Prostate Cancer ?

Posted by Yuri Urkel on June 21st, 2009 and filed under what is prostate cancer | 3 Comments »

I see alot of charity and publicity about Breast Cancer. I even bought a book of stamps with proceeds going to Breast Cancer research.
But what about men ? Men are just as likely to get Prostate Cancer and much more likely to die from prostate cancer. Because men rarely get checkups for it…. until it's too late.

For Women, early detection is key to fighting Breast Cancer. Same goes for Men. But there has been so little publicity for Men to get examined. Why the difference of the sexes ?

Because breast cancer is a very fast growing type of cancer and prostate cancer is the slowest growing cancer known.

Prostate Cancer. Side effect of hormone treatment is severe hot flushes. Anyone know of some way to ease them?

All the commononly reccommended treatments have been tried - sage in various forms, all the "womens' ailments remedies" including Evening Primrose . . .
All without any real easing of the severe discomfort experienced as often as four or five times an hour. Any really helpful suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks a lot.

I believe that the problem with the meducal industry us that they traet symptoms, and not cause.
I also believe that cancer is a whole body thing, and should be treated as such.
So, cleaning out the rest of the body will help solve the problems with the prostate.

If I was you, I would go through complete cleansing procedures for liver, kidney, gall bladder, and colon.
This the gives the body the strength to fight back and heal itself.

If you go to my web page at

you will find information on cancer in general.

What is a prostate orgasm and how does it work?

Posted by Yuri Urkel on June 21st, 2009 and filed under prostate | 7 Comments »

I'm a guy and I read about prostate orgasms but I'm still not sure about how it works. So when you're about to ejaculate, your supposed to rub the area between the scrotum and the anus? And thats supposed to make the orgasm more intense right? Or do you have to like put a finger in there? (I think thats pretty gross). Also, I think I read that it can be dangerous. Is it dangerous??

Some guys masturbate by stimulating their prostate (the male g-spot!), yes. Apparently it's extremely pleasurable. And yes, I've heard it does make the orgasm better.

You can either stimulate the area between the scrotum and the anus or you can directly stimulate the prostate…your choice. The second would feel better though.

It's not dangerous. Just make sure your nails are clipped.
